A 10-year old cancer patient - Colby Curtin was too sick to go to the theater to see the Disney-Pixar movie "Up". The patient, who was diagnosed with vascular cancer in 2005, saw the film previews in April and eagerly waited for the movie to arrive on June 10.
When Colby’s mother, Lisa asked her daughter: “Do you think you can hang on?”, “I’m ready (to die), but I’m going to wait for the movie,” she replied.
So Pixar and Disney animation studio sent someone to Colby's house in Huntington Beach, California, with a DVD copy of the movie.
This movie is the animated tale of a grumpy old man who, after his wife's death, tied thousands of balloons to his house and floated away, trying to fulfill their joint dream of visiting South America.
Colby was not able to open her eyes to watch the movie so mother described all the scenes. After the movie ended, she asked Colby if she enjoyed it. Her daughter nodded eagerly.
Colby died later that evening, exactly 7 hours after watching movie.
